UCAS

Nearly all Claremont Sixth Form students apply to UK universities and we provide comprehensive guidance and coaching on their future after Claremont. Our Sixth Form tutors are very experienced in supporting them through the application process and every year a very high number of students access their first choice destination – in 2024, 92% of students secured a place at their first choice destination.

Crucial for a successful application is discussion between students, parents, and teachers on which courses and institutions are best aligned with a student’s ambitions and interests. Every student receives personalised coaching to help them plan their next steps and the opportunity to attend useful events such as UCAS conventions and careers exploration using the Unifrog platform.

Guiding students to international destinations

As well as guiding students to leading academic institutions here in the UK, we also place students at universities around the world, including the USA, Spain, France, The Netherlands, Japan and China. In recent years, we have sent students to Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Wellesley College.

We also support students taking entrance exams for courses such as MAT (Mathematics Admission Test), SAT (Standard Aptitude test), ACT, LNAT, UCAT  (for entry to a medical/dentistry degree), BMAT, and STEP exams. Those wishing to apply to highly competitive institutions and courses requiring interviews also receive comprehensive support for each part of their application, including interview techniques.
