Throughout the students’ GCSE studies, we aim to cultivate a positive attitude to and love of learning for its own sake and to provide a working atmosphere where positive relationships with staff make learning both exciting and enjoyable.

One of our central objectives during GCSE studies is to ensure that every student acquires the knowledge, skills and concepts necessary for them to compete and flourish in the next stage of their education and in their entry into the rapidly changing adult world which will follow.

Crucial to this is helping the students to develop confidence and self-respect as well as a respect for difference in others. There is recognition that the efforts and achievements of every individual in our community are valued equally.

Important too is enthusiasm for the world beyond the classroom – in particular, sport, music, the performing arts and the concept of community service. We encourage a strong activist spirit amongst the student body, nurtured through an independent and dynamic approach to work both inside and outside the classroom
