Claremont reduces fees for 2025-2026 to help absorb impact of VAT
February 20, 2025 by James Jones in News

We are acutely aware of how challenging the introduction of VAT is for parents and have been working very hard with International Schools Partnership to find a solution to reduce and share the impact, whilst still ensuring that we can continue to deliver the highest standards.

From September 2025, a fee reduction will be applied to the September 2024 tuition and boarding base fee to which 20% VAT will be then applied.

Already this year, we have gone to great lengths to support families by fully absorbing the cost of VAT which was applied to all private school fees by the government in January 2025. However, we observed that the majority of independent schools immediately passed the cost increases associated with the VAT charge on to parents from January, with an average increase of overall fees ranging from 16% and up to 20%. We anticipate that most schools will further increase their fees from September 2025.

By absorbing some of this charge, Claremont continues to represent excellent value for money in the local area, providing an outstanding learning environment where all children are enabled to become their individual best.
