1st XI Boys Football & U10 Touch Rugby Festival

1st XI Football Undefeated Season

It has been great to get competitive football back up and running at Claremont. It has been a fantastic season with the boys going undefeated, winning all their matches. We played some very strong schools along the way, Skippers Hill, Vinehall, St Andrews, Rose Hill, Radnor House, Dulwich Prep and Bethany. Over the 7 games played we scored a total of 31 goals and conceded 9.

All the boys played their part, with Buckley B in goal, the defence of Lexy T, Will S, Ethan W and Oli H. In midfield, Marc C-H, Eric S-V, Felix C-D, Jasper D, Murray C and Theo C and Noah O. Special mention to two players, Theo C, who was the 1st XI Captain and his drive, awareness and dribbling was exceptional all season, scoring 5 goals and creating even more. Also Murray C, who was excellent in midfield and came up with some very important goals, scoring 5 and assisting many more, he also kept the team moving each game. Well done boys!

U10 Touch Rugby Festival

Huge well done to our U10 boys who played their first Rugby fixtures in 2 years! The boys played against 4 other competitive schools and the results were as follows;

Claremont 4 – 2 Marlborough House
Claremont 4 – 1 Dulwich Prep
Claremont 4 – 3 Ashford Prep
Claremont 3 – 0 Sutton Valence Prep

It was an undefeated afternoon! There was some exceptional running and passing. Although they had not had much experience, the boys picked up the rules quickly and moved the ball well and found the space to score 15 really good tries. Three boys received medals – Best Runner went to Freddie H, who scored 10/11 tries. Best Passer was Finley Chan, who turned into a very good scrum half, and Best Tackler went to Eddie Fox, who was the quickest to the opposition. Huge well done to all the boys that played in a very enjoyable afternoon of Rugby.
