The House system plays an important pastoral role, and provides another level of belonging in the Claremont community. Students belong to one of four Houses; Bodiam, Camber, Scotney and Pevensey. Each house includes one group of Year 9, one of Year 10 and one of Year 11 as well as one quarter of the Sixth Form population. This enables students from all ages to get to know each other well. Each house is led by a Head of House. Students in Year 9 to Year 11 wear the colours of their house: boys have different ties, girls have lapel pins. Students also wear different t-shirts for House competitions. Each house is represented by a different colour and supports a different charitable organisation.
Senior School life is busy so to keep spirits high (and generate some healthy competition), the Claremont Senior League (CSL) recognises, rewards and celebrates student and House endeavours in all their forms, academic or pastoral, individual and community to include outstanding attitudes to learning. Students can gain merits or commendations from a variety of means ranging from excellent work in the class to showing initiative in Co-curricular programmes and being a good citizen to a fellow student. Points are cumulated over each half term with many opportunities for students to win prizes each week. The much-coveted House cup is fiercely and proudly contested with the winner announced at the end of the year.
