Senior Curriculum

The curriculum we have built at the Senior School has a breadth and depth which is breathtaking. The aim is clear – to produce a genuinely holistic experience that provides the platform for students to fulfil their potential both inside and outside the classroom. Each and every student is supported by a framework that recognises that there will be a range of factors that shape a young person’s development. Strong pastoral guidance, a developed House system and an architecture of academic support; each plays its part in seeking out the right button to press for each student in order to light their individual ‘fire’. The academic programme is built around the five teaching faculties: Enterprise, Science & Technology, Humanities, Creative Arts and Communication. Each faculty looks to bring together different, but like minded subjects and provide an immersive learning experience that emphasises the ‘good struggle’. Each aims to provide the necessary ‘hooks’ for students to get to grips with concepts and content. The faculties also provide the platform for the delivery of a diverse co-curricular programme. The offerings are based around five different areas: Leadership & Qualification, Creative, Community, Active and Academic Support+. Each student, again, has the opportunity to tailor their learning programme to their own particular needs as they build the skills and experience each year they are at the school.
