Friends of Claremont School (FOCS) is a registered charity, run by a committee of Claremont Preparatory and Senior School parents. The committee meets regularly during term time aim is to organise social and events throughout the school year, raising money for projects which directly benefit the children of both Schools. Funds raised help to buy essential school equipment and to offer financial assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to take part in some school activities, such as residential study trips abroad. The annual Bonfire Night Celebration, Christmas Bazaar and Easter Egg Hunt are firm family favourites and a wonderful way for the whole school community to come together to raise funds and have some fun together. FOCS also play a big part in Sports Day and Claremont Day.
FOCS are a formidable fundraising force and in 2018 funded a whole host of projects to include a new overhead projector at the Senior School and animals for the Prep School Science department. The funds also helped to buy books for the Prep School library and resource materials for the Learning Support department. So far in 2019, FOCS’s donations have included new Ukuleles for the Music department, a printing press, new Forest School equipment, online learning support, a ‘Hands on History’ workshop and resources for our wonderful Newspaper Club.
