We are delighted to announce that we are the new sponsors of the Hastings Half Marathon junior Mini Run – now named the Claremont Mini Run!
The event, taking place on Sunday 23rd March, is a popular feature of race day and is open to runners aged to 16. This point-to-point race starts shortly after the main event, at 10:45, and has become a much-anticipated part of the day.
“We are thrilled to announce our new partnership as sponsors of the junior run at the Hastings Half Marathon, now known as The Claremont Mini Run,” said Ed Dickie, Principal of Claremont School. “Being involved in such a prestigious event aligns perfectly with our commitment to actively participate in the local community. Whether it’s fundraising efforts for Shelter or our annual representation at the Hastings Music Festival, Claremont takes pride in its role within the community.”
“At Claremont, promoting sports and encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle are integral to our curriculum and philosophy,” Mr. Dickie continued. “Joining forces with the Hastings Half Marathon team made absolute sense to us. We are excited to support all participants, young and old, and we can’t wait to cheer everyone on.”
Last year, the event raised £50,000 for local causes, a phenomenal effort through collaboration with local businesses, charities, individuals, schools and race clubs, all coming together to ensure that the Hastings Half Marathon is a resounding success.
Hayley Luck, Club President at Hastings Lions Club who are responsible for organising the half marathon, said: “Hastings Lion Club is part of one of the world’s largest and most active community service organisations, and serves it’s local community supporting local good causes, organisations and individuals through fund raising events.”
“We are privileged to be working alongside so many others in organising this local half marathon event which has now been held for over 40 years and is one of the biggest events in the Hastings calendar.”
